Is it possible to make a new career out of believing cities are fabulous? I’ll let ya know. So far, I’ve spent £16,725 on a year’s education, and am earning half what I used to, while scrambling to keep up with the UK Government’s dizzying succession of energy and planning U-turns. Thank god for multi-tasking.

In the meantime, this blog is an attempt to snatch some interesting flotsam from the torrent of urban info rushing by. It’s about public space, communication (or lack thereof), oddities, transit, weird photos, PROPER blogs, and the good and bad planning decisions that shape our habitat. If WordPress were user-friendly, I’d say it was just a bit of fun. But no.

*As a special annoyance, the scene above, which I photographed in April 2011 while researching Bankside’s draft neighbourhood plan, appeared as a close-up in the Royal College of Art Secret show in November – I assume it was sold. Another £40 I’ve lost out on. I will never get rich at this rate, I swear.
